Don Manning and myself tried for the Broad-tailed Hummer this morning, with no luck. We arrived at 6:45 and stayed until 9:10 when we were forced to leave to get back. There were several birders from Nashville and Chattanooga still there when we left so hopefully the bird will put in another appearance, and we can try again, maybe third time will be the charm. I fully expected the bird to be seen only minutes after we left! Only birds of note were a flock of about a dozen Bonaparte's Gulls seen flying north over rural Henry Co., near McKenzie, miles from the nearest suitable habitat. Good Birding!!
