Weather conditions (drizzle, then snow showers early, wind later) and poor
coverage (4-5 parties) resulted in low numbers of many species on today's CBC.
We found 72 species, about average. The only waterfowl were Canada Goose and
Mallard. Highlights were a Green Heron (photos) and a probable Western
Meadowlark (I'm still trying to decide whether I'm going to keep it on the
list). Another highlight was 13 Bald Eagles, at least one reported by each
party. Loggerhead Shrikes were in very low numbers (5) but weather probably
played a major role in this count (we also had low counts for Red-tailed Hawk
and Kestrel).
