My apologies if this has previously appeared. I have been having problems
with posting to Tn-Bird:

The Cades Cove CBC (GSMNP and Blount County) was held on Sunday, December
28, 2014. For the fourth year in a row, light to moderate rain fell until
early afternoon with temperatures ranging from 45-53. Despite these
conditions, 19 observers participated in 10 parties. 61 species were found
which is the average for this count. Notable finds were 2 Red-headed
Woodpeckers from the western part of Cades Cove, and Purple Finches, Pine
Siskins and Red Crossbills in small numbers. Notably missing were Black
Vultures,Turkey Vultures and Red-breasted Nuthatches, as was the case last
year.
