Nell & others......

Thanks to ALL for the informative posts. With respect to neck-collared and
leg-banded Canada geese, I appreciate any information you can send my
way. This is especially true for east TN sitings, but we have also
translocated a number of collared geese off the Oak Ridge Reservation to
other locales (such as Kentucky Lake). I'm keeping track of certain neck
collars of the type Nell made reference to in her recent post. I'm
interested in those which have the following black letters on a white
background (in the alpha-numeric-numeric-alpha format):

AA, AC, AE, AJ, AK, AR, CM, CP, CR, CT, CU, CX, CY, EA, EC, EP, JA, JP, JT,
JU, JY, TH, TJ, UX, and XA

I'll also take reports on any legband numbers. I need date and specific
location (county helps) of siting or recovery.

For those that are interested, I'll gladly send what info I have on a
particular bird. We are still using this "older-type" collar. "X88A" was
collared at the Oak Ridge Marina (Melton Hill Lake, Anderson County) on
6/21/02 as an adult female, and last observed prior to this report (by me
anyway) in July '02 (so this info really helps - thanks Nell and Harold!).

Remember, a goose is still a bird - and looking at one through your
binoculars will not harm the optics in any way, unlike (perhaps) a
starling, house sparrow, pick-your-favorite-bird-other-than-Canada goose,
etc., etc.....

I do appreciate the reports.....

THANKS AGAIN,

Kelly
