[TN-Bird] Carter Co. Summer Count

9 June 2012. 

The Herndon Chapter of TOS conducted the 19th Carter Co. Summer Bird Count
on Saturday, with 21 observers in 7 parties.  We found 114 species, which is 
slightly above the average of 112 over the previous 18 years (range 105 to 118).

A combined list of 147 species has been found over the 19 year period.  During
that span, 81 species have been found every year.  An additional 16 species have
been missed just 3 times or less, while another 22 species have occurred no 
more 
than 3 times.

Yellow-cr. Night-Heron - 2
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1  (scarce in NE Tenn.)
Am. Woodcock - 2
Eur. Collared-Dove - 1

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 2, at nest
Alder Flycatcher - 3
Least Flycatcher - 6
Com. Raven - 4
Red-br. Nuthatch - 16
Brown Creeper - 2
Winter Wren - 11
Golden-cr. Kinglet - 16
Veery - 46
