August 14, 2004 Wal-Mart Distribution Center (WMDC) and other sites, Greene County I observed the following today while birding at WMDC and vicinity, in Greeneville, and near the Nolichuckey River in the Tusculum area: Great Blue Heron (3); Great Egret (4, WMDC); Green Heron (2, WMDC); Cattle Egret (juvenile, WMDC--only the third Cattle Egret I have recorded in Greene County in eleven years); Black-crowned Night-Heron (juvenile, WMDC); Wood Duck (2, WMDC); Cooper's Hawk (WMDC); Solitary Sandpiper (2); Chimney Swift (52); Ruby-throated Hummingbird (2); Eastern Wood-Pewee; Eastern Kingbird (8); Tree Swallow (2); Northern Rough-winged Swallow (6); Barn Swallow (172); Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (Greeneville); Brown Thrasher (Greeneville); Loggerhead Shrike (near Tusculum); Yellow-throated Warbler (Greeneville); Common Yellowthroat; Blue Grosbeak (3); Indigo Bunting (4); Savannah Sparrow (2, WMDC).
