Cedar Creek Rec Area Wilson Co
Traveling
Went to Cedar Creek Rec Area Old Hickory Laketo look for
Oldsquaws(Long-tailed Ducks) hate that name, seen the previous day. Missed
them by a few minutes. Ran into Chris Agee who had seen them a little
earlier. Did find 4 White-winged Scoters, 8 Red-breasted Mergansers,11 N.
Pintails, Canvasback, Redheads, Buffleheads, numerous Herring, ring-billed
and Bonaparte's Gull, also at least 80 DC Cormorants on the little island
rookery, very noisy, and Bald Eagle. Also ran into Pam Haas and her friend
who originally found and photographed the Oldsqaws yesterday. She mentioned
there were Am. Wite Pelicans at Habour Island Cove Old Hickory Lake, drove
the 3 miles and got them also, At least 70 Great Blue Herons at the Shutes
Branch Rookery on Old Hickory Lake.
