Highlights included: 11 Tennessee 8 Magnolia 1 Chestnut-sided 4 Amercian Redstart 1 Yellow-rumped 1 Bay-breasted 3 Black-throated Green 1 Black and White 1 Common Yellowthroat 2 Ovenbird 1 Gray-cheeked Thrush 2 Swainsons Thrush 4 Rose-breasted Grosbeak Here are the highlights of the TOS fieldtrip to the Brainerd Levee (Hamilton co., TN) on October 12 (Kevin Calhoon): 4 Marsh Wren 1 Sedge Wren 2 Sora 4 Wilson's Snipe (first of fall) 2 Savannah Sparrow (first of fall) 1 Double-crested Cormorant 1 Blue-winged Teal 1 Barn Swallow (late) 1 Nashville Warbler 1 Lincoln's Sparrow I saw my first White-throated Sparrow of the fall at the Pot House in the Tennessee River gorge in Marion co.on Oct. 12. Now is the time for accipiters (Bill Haley) On October 11highlights were: 1 Bald Eagle 19 Sharp-shinned Hawks 3 Coopers Hawks October 12: 14 Sharp-shinned 4 Coopers 1 Peregrine Falcon Here are the highlights of the TOS fieldtrip to the riverwalk below Chickamauga Dam on October 8 (Janice Chadwell): 7 species of warblers: Bay-breasted Nashville Blackburnian Black-throated Green Magnolia Orange-crowned Tennessee David Aborn is still banding migrant passerines at the North Chickamauga Greenway (Hamilton co., TN). On October 7 he banded: 1 Nashville Warbler 2 Gray-cheeked Thrushes 2 Magnolia Warblers 2 Palm Warblers Two Peregrine Falcons, one Osprey, and two Caspian Terns were seen from below Chickamauga Dam on October 4.
