The Common Loon at Little Marrowbone Creek is still there. In fact, it was calling when I stopped to look at it this morning. If you're coming onto Little Marrowbone Road from Eaton's Creek Road, the bird is in the creek near the bridge just before the picnic area/parking lot on the right-hand side of the road. I suspect this bird was grounded by the severe storms on Monday and is now stuck in this little creek and can't take off because it doesn't have enough space to become airborne. Unless this bird is captured and released into a larger body of water I think it's going to have some problems. (I've cc'd Scott Somershoe on this message.)
