About 15 minutes ago, I saw three common mergansers (a male and two females)
about 9/10 mile upstream from the Walland bridge, and 3/10 mile upstream from
the house on the rock cliff (which is undergoing an absolute auction this
morning and attracting a large crowd of people). If the past two years are any
indicator, the mergansers (and likely several more than three) will probably be
regulars through the summer, so I won't be reporting them every time that I see
them.
