Adam Beachy found an adult  Connecticut Warbler this evening, deep in
Ragweed and other dense, tangled weeds at Stoll Farm while helping David
Chaffin play his bird-a-day game.
He said it took 15-20 minutes and great stealth and trickery to get the
bird in sight, but he finally got great looks!
He managed to get myself and David on the bird briefly later with the use
of playback.
Until then, the bird-of-the-day had been one of two different
Yellow-bellied Flycatchers seen on the day, but this extremely rare and
elusive Fall warbler quickly took the honor.
Adam plans to refind the Connecticut Warbler tomorrow for the Perry
County Fall Count.
