Birders,
For some reason, my neighborhood is teeming with Crows. I have always had a
few from time to time but now we have a flock of about 10 and they speak
constantly! Today I heard one clucking-I am not kidding. I have never heard
that sound from a Crow before. They got after my Mallard pair and the female
lowered her head and ran them off! What fun to watch. Also today, besides the
non-stop singing of a Pine Warbler, I had a Pileated Woodpecker-unusual for
this area.
