Thanks. Visiting family in the area for Christmas. Went to the wrong spot
yesterday. Will try again later this week if I have opportunity.

Hi all, with the Western Grebe bringing attention to the Seven Points
Recreation Area on J. Percy Priest Lake in Nashville, I think the eBird
hotspots need some clarification. There is a relatively new hotspot called
"Seven Points Recreation Area Boat Ramp." This is not the small boat ramp
within the campground area, it is the year round boat launch which is further
down the road and on the opposite side of the peninsula. It's a fairly
specific hotspot.
The "Seven Points Recreation Area Campground" is much larger and includes the
entire campground, including the shore line by the playground and the smaller
boat ramp within the campground.
It makes sense for these to be separate hotspots, and one cannot see the same
birds from both locations, but the terminology is confusing with reference to
"boat ramp" in the larger hotspot. If you park and walk in to the campground,
please be sure to use the campground hotspot if you use eBird.
I'm attaching a quick screenshot with the "boat ramp" hotspot marked with an
arrow. An "X" marks the spot where the Western Grebe has generally been seen.
There have been regular Pacific Loons at the Boat ramp location, but to my
knowledge, the Western Grebe has not been seen on that side.
Thanks!
