5 Jun 2011
western Washington Co, TN

Dickcissel: 12+ males, at following sites
- - - Taylor Mill Rd / Old St. Rt. 34
- - - Corby Bridge Rd.
- - - Keebler Rd
- - - Frank Stanton Rd. (east end)
Some of these sites have been occupied for the last 15 years,
but, this is a large number for the area. This species is generally
considered to be rare in East Tenn., but this is a banner year for
the whole region.

Also encountered this morning:
Osprey - 1, at Jackson Bridge on Nolichucky River
Eur. Collared-Dove - 1, west end of Clark Rd.
Horned Lark - pair, with nest-building observed, at Keebler Rd.
Savannah Sparrow - 2-3 each at Keebler Rd & Charlie Carson Rd.
Blue Grosbeak & Grasshopper Sparrow - 5-6+ of each.
N. Bobwhite - 2, very hard to find this species these days.
