Anyone wishing to come to the Amnicola Marsh, These are some details that help recognize where you are. From Cleveland come South on 75 to Hwy153. bear right onto 153. Go to Amnicola Hwy, (The Chattanooga State College, Chickamauga Dam) exit. The exits are changing daily due to construction, so if you are directed to exit before the bridge on a ramp, turn left onto Amnicola; if you are directed to go under the bridge and exit ( and I think that has been permanently closed), you would loop around and turn right onto Amnicola Hwy. Note: the signs say construction speed limits are 45MPPH and they are strictly enforced with high fines. Once on Amnicola follow it to the Police Services Center, about 3 red lights, and watch for the Schlotzsky's Deli on the right. Be in the right lane and slow down. The trun into the marsh parking is obscured by trees, but will be immediately on your right. Park in the small gravel lot and walk in. The Marsh is on the left after you walk in for a short distance, walk to your left another short distance. The industrial park behind the Marsh is also a good place to bird. You may enter the park just before Schlotzsky's and just past where you enter the Marsh parking lot. There have been Upland Sandpiper, Bobolink, and other good grass loving birds in the industrial area for several years. There have been Great Egret in the Marsh as recently as last week.
