What bird species will be most benefited by the outbreak of the periodic
cicadas? I remember an outbreak, in 1987 I think it was, and they were
everywhere. I was in the mountains of north Georgia near Hiawassee, and I
could not believe the noise they made. It sounded to me like a motor of
some kind. I thought I was near some kind of industrial plant. Some birds
will surely have a feast.
