John Robinson's book, as with any of its kind, was out of date and incomplete at the time it was published. I can remember John trying to keep up with the new records and researching old reports but at some time you just draw the curtain and publish. It is almost impossible for one person to gather or have knowledge of all records but John did as good a job as could have been done and we will be forever indebted to him. I have three copies, one for the truck, one for the book case and one at bedside. It is a great resource and guide but it is now 12 years old and most of the data is a couple of years older than that. That is the wonder of birds, their study is open ended and on going; what we don't know exceeds what we do. Technology being what it is today, with instant communications, we could pool our knowledge and search records to date, then put out a list of updates on a web site for each species in John's book. By adding the new species and keeping dates current the info could be almost at real time. Good Birding!!! Jeff R.
