March 22
SE Dyer County
I was working in SE Dyer County yesterday and had a few interesting bird
encounters.

On Ferrell Road I had a single Red-breasted Nuthatch in a row of pine trees
beside the road. The bird was completely silent and came out of the pines for a
couple of minutes when I was pishing for sparrows and wrens in a brush pile. At
a creek on Middle Trimble Road I had my first singing Louisiana Waterthrush of
the the season. Brown Thrashers and Eastern Towhees were singing everywhere and
I also had several singing Field Sparrows around.

Good birding,

Mark Greene
