Ran into Kristy Baker in Eagleville. She showed me the Barn Owl barn. Bird
was in there. We drove down the road and watched for the Short-eared Owl.
It came out fast and flew around above tree top level a while and
disappeared. I moved a little futher up the road to listen for woodcocks
and after a few minutes I saw another Short-eared Owl in a field near me.
Watched it lite on a fence post and sit for about a minute. Then it flew
off just as Kristy was pulling up so I could show her. Kristy drove on and
after about 5 minutes I had a Great horned Owl hooting away. Owl trifecta
tonight. There were a little more than 100 Sandhill Cranes in the area.
