What a difference a week makes. Last weekend at Ensley Bottoms the only shorebirds were the usual nesters, this weekend the Least Sandpipers showed up with the nos. estimated at 125+with 1 Western Sandpiper tagging along. Five species of waterfowl were present including a Fulvous W. Duck most likely the same one found earlier this year. In the borrow pits on the north side of Riverport Rd. 9 Yellow-crowned Night Herons were taking advantage of the falling water to look for mud bugs along the muddy edges. Good birding Q.B.
