Just before dusk, April 18, 2008.
Goodwater Rd, Cocke Co,TN
FOS Blue-gray Gnatcatcher. Just in time. The gnats have been atrocious the
last two days.

Belted Kingfisher and Wood Ducks in the creek
Canada Geese flyover.
Louisiana Waterthrush.
FOS House finch pair.
Still have several pair American Goldfinches
Still have many pair Purple Finches.
Several pair Tufted Titmouse, Carolina Wrens, Carolina Chickadees and Eastern
Phoebes, most of them already have nests built.
Off over the fields we could hear: Field Sparrow, Killdeer, Eastern Meadowlark,
Red-winged Blackbirds, Pileated Woodpecker, Crow, etc.
We watched a Red-bellied Woodpecker female checking out a hole in the Red Maple
in the front yard.
Two female Downy Woodpeckers were fighting over a feeder, while the
White-breasted Nuthatch grabbed a seed from the other side.
Last to be heard at night are always the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds and several
breeding pairs of Cardinals.
