Yes, although ragweed pollen is a scourge for some of us, ragweed seed has more
protein than corn or milo according to: http://sfbfp.ifas.ufl.edu/A3-06.html
And paid subscription article
www.bioone.org/bioone/?request=get-document&issn=0043-1745&volume=051&issue=06&page=0955
says "Giant ragweed seeds have high nutritional value, consisting of 47%
crude protein and 38% crude fat."

I have read that ragweed seeds are a favorite of bobwhite quail, and have
seen on some quail conservation sites that they offer ragweed seed for
sale!

I read somewhere that Rag Weed seed, pound for pound, contains more crude
protein than Black Oil Sunflower. The heavy billed birds such as grosbeaks and
Cardinals chow down on both the younger softer seed as the smaller birds do
in the early season and then have exclusive rights to the hard seed later on
in the fall. I've spent a lot of time hunkered in the extensive giant ragweed
plots looking at warblers and seen dozens of quail families foraging in the
growth.

Good Birding !!!
