TN-birders, We had a great paper session and Board-of-Directors meeting this past weekend in Clarksville, TN. The local Warioto Audubon chapter outdid themselves with food and drinks for our Friday night social, and the hotel and meeting room was excellent. Along with all that, there were several field trips on Saturday and Sunday that were enjoyed by all. A very large thanks to the Warioto folks! The birding highlight was probably a Merlin, found on the Fort Campbell Reservation on Sunday. The paper session was excellent with 3 papers that were well presented and very interesting. Bob Ford gave a Saturday night talk about global climate change. My thanks to all the paper presenters and to Bob Ford. One thing that was approved at the meeting was a winter TOS birding outing. This will be held at Pickwick State Park on January 31 – February 2, 2014. No business will be conducted other than some great birding with like-minded people! Please plan to attend if you can. The next Spring TOS meeting will be held in Chattanooga the first weekend in may, 2014. Please plan to attend. Great birding, Ron Hoff President / state bird count compiler Tennessee Ornithological Society 282 Hackworth Ln. Clinton, TN 37716 865-435-4547 aves7000@xxxxxxxxxxxxx
