A large female Ruby-throat came to the feeder at 1:56 this afternoon and joined
the mature male who came on Saturday. A little later the male came to our
picture window while we were watching and looked inside for several seconds.
Knowing that hummingbirds flunked sharing in hummer school, we wonder if he was
trying to say to us: “who invited that female to join me?”. Even though we
have two feeders on opposite sides of the house, we are sure they each will
want to dominate both of them.
