At the Fort Loudon Dam Overlook in Loudon County, Tennessee, at around 10:30 a.m., Sunday morning, I saw at least 48 black vultures, most of them sitting on the fence on the far shore. Also at least 2 ospreys fishing; 4 black crowned night herons, several cormorants (I'm assuming double crested but they were too distant to be sure), no gulls, many great blue herons, some sitting on nests on the tower. An indigo bunting was singing in the trees beside the parking lot.
