I birded Eagle Bend Fish Hatchery today from apx. 12:45- 1:30. Most of the time was spend combing through apx. 500 Ring-Billed Gulls. for anything unusual. This was a high count of gulls at this location for me. Did find 11 First Year Herring Gulls. I briefly spotted a large, pale gull, but it eluded me as one of the staff drove by and they all flew, many dispersing towards the Clinch River. Other good looks were had at RedHead Ducks (2) 22 Bufflehead 4 Snipe 2 Ring-Necked Ducks \EasternPhoebe Strange to only see 2 Coots there Few Mallards 4 Killdeer Only 6 Canada Geese (They are starting to pair off) 9 Great Blues Herons on nests (at least 9 nests) Did not do accurate count, as ran out of time and did not drive closer to the area. Eagle Bend Hatchery/ ponds is located in Clinton, Tn along the Clinch River/ Anderson County.
