About a year ago, I found a Black Swan at the Watkins Street slough in Shelby County, just north of the Memphis city limits. Perhaps some even recall some highly forgettable verses that I penned describing the event. Tonight, a friend who lives at Lakeland, TN, sent me this photograph of a bird that is occupying the pond at her condo complex. She says it has been there for a few days, terrorizing the local Canada Geese. I wonder where it has been in the meantime.
