There’s an adult GLOSSY IBIS continuing this afternoon from yesterday out
on the Duck River Mudflats. Best seen by going out on a kayak but also
visible with a scope from the Duck River Overlook on Refuge Road.
Also present are an adult LAUGHING GULL, 29 STILT, 3 BAIRD’S and 4
WESTERN SANDPIPERS, 1 SHORT BILLED DOWITCHER and a newly arrived BLACK
BELLIED PLOVER. Many of the shorebirds seem to have moved on because of the
higher lake levels over the weekend, but there should be more taking their
place with the abundance of mud here now.
