I logged 88 species without putting forth any special effort for high numbers. Highlights included: Great Egret (2--1 on Murray Bridge Road, 1 on North Mohawk Road); Wood Duck (4); Blue-winged Teal (6 on Murray Bridge Road); Osprey (2 on Jim Kirk Road 0.2 mi. from Mohawk Creek Road--exactly where 1 was seen on April 3 by various members of Greeneville TOS; not an obvious nesting or feeding site, so observations on both dates is somewhat unexpected); Broad-winged Hawk (Midway); Northern Bobwhite (near Tusculum); Greater Yellowlegs (7 in western Greene County); Lesser Yellowlegs (21 in western Greene County); Solitary Sandpiper (16 in western Greene County--my personal high count for Greene County); Great Horned Owl (near Tusculum); Ruby-throated Hummingbird (Greeneville); Red-headed Woodpecker (Green Road); Great Crested Flycatcher; Eastern Kingbird (8); Purple Martin (9); Tree Swallow (9); Northern Rough-winged Swallow (3); Barn Swallow (35); House Wren (5); Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (3); Ruby-crowned Kinglet (5); Veery (Greeneville); Gray-cheeked Thrush (Greeneville); Wood Thrush (5); Gray Catbird (2); Brown Thrasher (4); American Pipit (20 on Green Road); White-eyed Vireo; Blue-headed Vireo; Red-eyed Vireo (4); Nashville Warbler (Greeneville); Yellow Warbler (2); Chestnut-sided Warbler (Greeneville); Black-throated Blue Warbler (2 in Greeneville); Black-throated Green Warbler (Greeneville); Cape May Warbler (Greeneville); Yellow-rumped Warbler (12); Blackburnian Warbler (Greeneville); Bay-breasted Warbler (Greeneville); American Redstart (2 in Greeneville); Ovenbird (Greeneville); Common Yellowthroat (8); Hooded Warbler (7); Yellow-breasted Chat; Summer Tanager (Green Road); Chipping Sparrow; Savannah Sparrow; Swamp Sparrow (2); White-throated Sparrow (7); White-crowned Sparrow (4); Orchard Oriole (6); Baltimore Oriole (Green Road).
