Banding at Greenway Farms this morning yielded the first Hermit Thrush of the
season. I also saw several Ruby-crowned Kinglets, so the temperate migrants are
on the move! Other migrants banded included 6 Wood Thrushes, a Hooded Warbler,
a Magnolia Warbler, and a Gray Catbird. Monday's (7 October) banding included 6
Magnolia Warblers and a catbird. Overall, Hooded Warblers seem to noticeably
more numerous, while captures of Magnolia Warblers and Tennessee Warblers are
down this year.
