21 November 2009 Hamilton County, TN The Chattanooga TOS Greenway Farms banding field trip was pretty successful. We captured 10 new birds and had 8 recaptures. One of the recaptures was a Hermit Thrush that I banded in March of 2004. Looking back through my records, I have recaptured that same bird every year, so it must really like the area. Here is a full list of what we caught: New captures: Field Sparrow = 4 Eastern Tufted Titmouse = 2 Blue Jay = 2 White-throated Sparrow = 1 Fox Sparrow (FOS) = 1 Recaptures: Eastern Tufted Titmouse = 3 Hermit Thrush = 2 White-throated Sparrow = 1 Northern Cardinal = 1 Carolina Wren = 1 Harold Sharp has posted some photos from the day at http://www.chattanoogan.com/articles/article_163622.asp. I thank everyone who came out on Saturday!
