While walking my dog at Greenway Farms this morning, there was a flurry of
activity around the garden plots and surrounding sycamore saplings. I counted
12 Magnolia Warblers, 10 Tennessee Warblers, a Black-throated-green Warbler,
and an Eastern Wood-Pewee. They, along with a host of chickadees, titmice,
bluebirds, House finches, and Field Sparrows, were feeding on lots of small
caterpillars. I am sure the people who rent the garden plots will be glad for
the pest control assistance! After about 15 minutes, the activity stopped. I am
not sure where all the birds went, but I did hear a lot of belching coming from
the trees and shrubs!
