Harpeth River Greenway Davidson Co., TN 2011 April 3 6:45-8:05 am cool and clear My wife Bonnie and I took a Sunday morning walk at Harpeth River Greenway in Bellevue, SW Davidson Co. We almost immediately spooked a WILSON'S SNIPE from a small bit of water next to the walking path. It dove for cover back into the weeds in front of the small lake. Past the 3/4 mile post we heard the E. SCREECH OWL, which has been AWOL for a couple months. On our way back to the car we stopped at the edge of the lake and watched a PIED-BILLED GREBE and a couple of AM. COOTs feeding, when suddenly a LEAST SANDPIPER took off from the muddy edge. I watched it in my binoculars as it headed north and eventually out of view, a fine ending to our morning walk.
