Roy, Melissa, and others, The Knoxville Chapter of TOS is hosting a hawkwatch at the Foothills Parkway on Sunday, September 19, starting at 8 am. This is an excellent time to see primarily Broad-winged Hawks. This is in Blount County, in Walland, between Maryville and Townsend. From Knoxville, take US 129 (Alcoa Highway) south to a major split, where you go left. Stay straight through Alcoa and Marvyille until you are spit out onto US 321 northbound (though it actually goes east) Follow about 10-15 miles and look for the very large brown sign.
