As of 5:45 p.m. today, no further sightings of the hooded crane had been made
at Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge, Meigs Co.,  since Mike's observation at 10:15 a.m.
A juvenile direct autumn release (DAR) whooping crane was seen a little after 5
p.m. Better viewing weather is expected tomorrow and Sunday, so perhaps it will
be easier to spot the hooded crane and more whooping cranes then.

Subject: [TN-Bird] Hooded Crane briefly seen

At about 10:15 I briefly saw the Hooded flying with a small group of Sandhills,
but flew out of sight to the fields to right. I was scanning distant flocks
with the scope, and no one else got on it. Bird is still here though. No
Whooping Cranes yet today.

Good birding
