Charlie- IMO, this bird is not an early migrant. The earliest RTHU records that I know of are from late March, and they are only just now returning to the Gulf Coast. My opinion is that this bird is a winter bird that is on the move - and probably not a RTHU. Did you get a good enough look to make any sort of tentative identification?
