[TN-Bird] IMBD Count at Stones River Battlefield Sat. 5/14

This is an invitation to all area birders to participate in the Stones
River National Battlefield's first annual International Migratory Bird
Day (IMBD) bird count on Saturday May 14.
Park staff and volunteers have been working for several years to remove
invasive exotic plant species and establish native grasses at the
Fortress Rosecrans site, and results from this year's bird count will
be used in conjunction with other inventory efforts to establish
baseline references on bird diversity and abundance. Ultimately, data
such as those collected at counts like this one can help park officials
evaluate the effectiveness of different habitat restoration strategies.
We will be meeting at the Fortress Rosecrans parking lot in
Murfreesboro at 9:00 am. Please join us!
