Goodwater Rd
Cocke Co, TN
Would anyone be interested in birding on our property?
My husband and I are avid bird-watchers, but still "amateurs." We would like
to invite anyone from this list to do some birding at our farm. We are off
route 340 at the confluence of Oven Creek and the Nolichucky River. We own 60
acres and have access to another 150+ acres of neighbors' lands. There are
varied habitats here: river, creek, pond, hardwood forest, mixed pine forest,
cedar forest, overgrown pasture, fencerows, open pastures, hayfields, old
buildings, yard feeders. We have quite a variety of feathered friends, and
enjoy sharing them with others.
We recognize most of these birds, but need someone to help us identify the
warblers and a few others.
We are retired, so any day would be fine for visitors, except Sunday morning or
Wednesday.
Distance to our place from:
Newport 15 miles
Greeneville 20 miles
Morristown 25 miles
Knoxville 60 miles
Johnson City 60 miles
Ashville, Marshall, Hot Springs, NC an hour +/-

There is ample space to park a camper or horse trailer overnight. This is a
good place to bird from horseback.... miles of back roads with little traffic.
Also a good area for wildflowers and photography.
