I tried today without success to relocate the Amhingas found yesterday by Scott Somershue There is a large rookery opposite Long Hunter SP on an island containing GB Herons, many DC Cormorants, and some Cattle and Great Egrets No Anhingas seen At Poole Knobs, there is excellent habitat now with many waders present, including Little Blue Heron, Great, and Snowy Egret, and WR Sandpipers in the shallows. As the water recedes, this would be worth checking for other waders or shorebirds including ibis, spoonbills, and others The area will be open daily to mere mortals until Sept 1 when it will close Friday - Sunday for hunting dog trials???????????????
