The Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society will sponsor the following field trip: Sat., November 30, 2002. 8:30 am Field trip to Fort Loudon Lake. Leader Marcia Davis ( 558-1458). Meet in the West End of the Krogers parking lot at the North Shore Drive Exit off I-140. The field trip will include stops at various locations along Fort Loudon Lake including Louisville Point Park, Phelps Dairy pond and Scenic Point in Blount County, then on to Fort Loudon Dam and work our way back along North Shore drive, stopping at Concord Park and other points. A wide variety of habitats are covered and a good diversity of birds are there to be seen, including loons, grebes, herons, ducks, shorebirds, raptors, gulls, and many passerines. Bring lunch and something to drink. Another trip is set for Saturday, December 7, 2002 to Tellico Dam led by Wes James. Details will be posted later.
