I was inspired by Graham Gerdeman's post yesterday about the birds he found
at Bells Bend Park, so I headed out there this morning. I managed to find
several new birds for the year and many of the ones he had seen, with the
addition of a Great Egret at the shorebird pond. But my favorite sighting
was of eight Eastern Kingbirds, four in one small tree in the parking lot,
and four others together on the wire fence just 50 yards down the road. It
was just fun to witness migration in that way. The Sora was still at the
pond across from the sod farm, but heard only.
