My second trip to see the kittiwake worked as the bird is at the dam now. No
Little yet, but I have a few more minutes. Thanks, Mike, I had given up on the
bird!

Pickwick Dam, Hardin Co

Made another quick trip after work to Pickwick, as my lack of decent photos
my first trip still bugged me, with the Little Gull from yesterday sweetening
the deal. Spent about an hour and a half in the area. The Kittiwake spent
most of the time perched on the vertical face of the dam control house, on a
small ledge. It was by itself here, and would be easily overlooked. It did
make a few feeding forays while I was there. I never saw the adult Little
seen yesterday, though several Bonaparte's were in the area. As I was leaving
I stopped quickly to scope above the dam. Not many gulls above, but a classic
1st-cycle Thayer's was working the area out from the state park. Very few
divers around so not much of interest. I didn't have time to go to Bruton
Branch which is often productive.

I have uploaded a couple of decent images of the Kittiwake to a new gallery
on my Pbase site:
