On Friday, June 6, I had a Least Flycatcher vigorously singing for several minutes from large trees at the uphill edge of a strip mine about 0.75 miles WNW of the Walnut Mountain lookout tower in Campbell County. This bird was vary close to the boundary of the Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area, and I'm not yet sure whether it was in or out. This is the first possible breeding record of this species from the Campbell/Scott County area that I am aware of in over a decade. I'll be glad to provide anyone with the exact location.
