Yesterday (12/7/13), Andrew Theus and I birded along the Tennessee River. From the boat ramp at Booker T. Washington State Park, we observed an adult Little Gull flying up and down the river. It is very plausible that this could be one of the individuals originally found by Rick Houlk on 11/25/13 in the Harrison Bay area. The bird flew nearly all the way down to Chickamauga Dam and then circled back and flew out of site heading northeast (towards Harrison Bay). Interestingly enough, it was not with any Bonaparte's Gulls as was the situation on 11/25/13. After that, we checked the Vincent Road boat ramp and the Hwy 58 pulloff at Harrison Bay (where there were numerous Bonaparte's Gulls), but were not able to relocate it.
