Yesterday (Saturday) Jan 4 at noon the loggerhead shrike reported by Jim Arnett
and others was still present at Harlinsdale Farm near Franklin. Turn off
Franklin Road into the farm and drive past a large gravel/dirt pile all the way
to the southwest corner of the park to a dead end where a parking lot and canoe
launch are located. A trail starts there heading north. Walk about 300 meters
to a small rock pile. The shrike forages in that area and it is quite friendly.
You will need boots because of much standing water in the trail, or you can
avoid most of that water by walking on the right (East) side parallel to the
trail.
