Well, I headed out late last night and drove to Reelfoot Lake against my better school judgement. I should have been studying but instead I studied on the way there (safe, huh!). Anyway, at about 7:00am I was looking for the Murrelet and found a female Long-tailed Duck. It was first seen from the boardwalk behind Reelfoot State Park and we saw it throughout the day from Bo's Landing working the group of trees out in the middle of the water and in the cove there at the Landing at the same place where the Murrelet was seen the day before. So, the bad news is that we searched all day long and didn't see the Murrelet. We did see a bird that had a high possibility of the Murrelet but we cannot be sure as the three of us that saw the bird at different times did not get a good enough look to I.D. the bird. So, it may or may not still be there. Good luck if you go looking for it, I hope it's still out there somewhere.
