James, To the best of my knowledge "visiting rights" to the Long-tailed Jaeger belong only to our neighbor to the north, Kentucky. It has not yet "violated" Tennesse air space or waters, but I am sure there are many birders hoping that it wanders just a few miles south. However, at present the bird appears to be happy with the Kentucky hospitality it has received. Many thanks to Hap and others who have reported on the bird. I hope it stays around for others to view. Mike Todd's photos are quite good, but not as close up as those taken just a few days ago of a similar immature Long-tailed Jaeger, which was walking around on the shore of a northern Arizona lake. -- Frank Fekel Tennessee State University Center of Excellence in Information Systems 330 10th Avenue North Nashville, TN 37203 USA =================NOTES TO SUBSCRIBER===================== The TN-Bird Net requires you to sign your messages with first and last name, city (town) and state abbreviation. ----------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------- To post to this mailing list, simply send email to: tn-bird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx ----------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, send email to: tn-bird-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the Subject field. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TN-Bird Net is owned by the Tennessee Ornithological Society Neither the society(TOS) nor its moderator(s) endorse the views or opinions expressed by the members of this discussion group.
