On Feb. 23, (shortly after reading Scott's post about a Feb. 22 Louisiana
Waterthrush in Perry County), I heard a potential LOWA in the Tremont area
of Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Blount County). It was a single,
loud, emphatic chip call. I wish I had more to go on than a single call,
but the volume, tone and habitat (right in past LOWA nesting territory) I
think are all favorable indicators.
I was busy teaching, so I couldn't investigate further at that moment.
Later searching did not prove fruitful.
