I had 136 species this weekend between Thursday/Friday in Lake County
along the Mississippi River and Saturday/Sunday in Hardin/Perry/Humphrey's
Counties along the Tennessee River.
5 Tern species with 3 COMMON TERNS at Tiptonville Bar and 2 at the Duck
River Unit yesterday.
14 species of shorebirds with SANDERLING at Island 13 (1) Fritz Landing
(2) and the Duck River Unit (8), BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS at Island 13
(1) and the Duck River Unit (1) , BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS at Island 13 (1),
WESTERN SANDPIPER at Island 13 (3) and the Duck River Unit (5), STILT
SANDPIPERS (5) at Island 13, SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS (5) at Island 13 plus
2 unidentified Dowitchers at the Duck River Unit, 19 Black-necked Stilts
and 75 newly arrived Yellowlegs (mostly Lesser), at Flowers Sheep Ridge
Loop.
3 species of Owls from camp at Island 13.
Several continuing singing WHIP-POOR-WILLs and close to a hundred Flyover
NIGHTHAWKS at Stoll Farm.
7 sp. of Flycatchers, with at least 4 calling and singing ALDER
FLYCATCHERs at Island 13, plus several unidentified Traill's and a possible
Least Flycatcher, getting slightly late ACADIAN FLYCATCHERs at Hardin
Bottoms and 2 at Stoll Farm, GREAT CRESTED at Stoll Farm, and a flyby
SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER at the Duck River Unit.
14 sp. of Warblers, (still hard to come by in West Tennessee) with the
best being a female GOLDEN-WINGED at Stoll Farm, several KENTUCKY WARBLERs
and A WORM-EATING WARBLER at Stoll Farm.
Continuing flocks of DICKCISSELS at Flowers Sheep Ridge Loop and Hardin
Bottoms, and good looks at a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW at Flowers Sheep Ridge
Loop.
