MTSU campus Rutherford County 3-4-12 I don't know what the statewide population of Cedar Waxwings is, but a sizeable chunk of it is currently annihilating some berry-laden trees at MTSU as I type this. I estimated about 500 individuals spread out among five trees. At one point, almost the entire flock descended on one particular tree, and for a few seconds, all you could see was a seething whirlwind of waxwings where there had once been greenery. (I think it's a holly tree, but in my excitement, I didn't even think to notice.) Daniel Estabrooks
